ZETA ELECTRONIC ENGINE  GOVERNOR

TECH OVERVIEW OF HJS EMISSION TECHNOLOGY

The HJS SMF-AR-System is a diesel particle filter system made by HJS Emission Technology in Germany. Using sintered metal technology (SMF) and a fully automatic independent active regeneration facility (AR). When sufficient soot is collected in the sintered metal filter the electronic unit automatically triggers a regeneration, if there has not been a spontaneous burn off of the soot by normal vehicle use. Without any engine management or driver input. An additive is added to the diesel fuel to lower the ignition temperature of the soot and increase its burn off speed during the regeneration of the filter. The additive is added to the diesel fuel by automatic dosing pump.

When the vehicle is refuelled the dosing pump identifies the amount of additional fuel being added and doses it accordingly. A slight clicking noise can be heard from the pump in this case.

The SMF technology reduces emission of particulate matter down to the limit of detection. The technology is  exceptionally reliable, with low maintenance and has a long service life.

The additive used is SMF-AR F51. The HJS part number 94 60 0253. The HJS additive tank has approximately a 2.40 litre capacity. The vehicle is provided with a full additive tank. When you do the maths this should give approximately 650 fuel tank refills. (As the dosing rate is 8ml of additive per 10 litre of diesel fuel).

In the UK one company that deals with this system is Cybrand AEC Ltd,  www.cybrand.co.uk  .
